Our Venue ...

Bushwell herd of British White Cattle
Inspecting our lovely herd of British White cattle ...

Our venue is Bushwell Farm, situated in the heart of the National Forest and just outside the quaint market town of Ashby de la Zouch.
It is home to our herd of pedigree British White cattle which you may spot during your stay with us, but don’t worry they will be well away from our campsite!
The weekend itself is very much back to nature, although we won’t be going as far as composting toilets and a hose pipe in the yard for a shower!

Dawn at Bushwell Farm camp site
Sunrise on the Bluegrass site ...

Be assured facilities will be clean and well maintained plus you’ll have an idyllic rural setting for your tent or motor home.
(If you don’t fancy camping there are nearby B&Bs see here).

Delicious, Locally Sourced Meals ...

Sing Mainly Bluegrass Breakfast
The finest of fare for our campers ...

Jaming in the grass
A quiet jam amongst the clover ...

We have brought in one of the best local catering services to provide hearty and nutritious meals so you don’t need to bother with pots and pans and risk an apoplectic fit when you tip the sausages into the grass!

All tuition and meals will be in our large, airy marquee which will also double as a social area for a jam or busk so bring your instruments as well as your voices!

Campfire Sing-A-Round ...

Campfire
Stoking up before the sing around!

A campfire is a must and as the sun goes down we’ll definitely be having one alongside a loosely organised sing around headed up by Julie & Amanda whose band, Calling Time is well known around the area and are both members of the Folk On The Farm team.
We hope you'll take part so bring along a song or two and your instruments.
Calling Time are a lively band and will definitely get things going!

FAQs

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The price for the weekend is £189
This includes all meals and free camping for your tent or caravan.

HOW DO I PAY?
As we are limiting numbers and want to be sure we can cover our fixed costs, we are asking for a deposit of £20 to secure your place.  (This is not refundable as we are liable for non-refundable deposits ourselves.  Hope you understand!)
The balance will be due by the 1st July.
Click Here to book and pay.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE TO CANCEL THE EVENT?
Full refunds will be given except for the £20 deposit.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
If you cancel before the 1st July we will refund any payment made less the deposit.
If you cancel after the 1st July and have paid the full amount due we will only give a refund if we can offer your place to someone else.

INSURANCE
Last year we had a couple of people who had to cancel at the very last minute.
As the weekend is very tightly costed on limited numbers we were unable to offer refunds so you might like to take out appropriate cancellation of holiday insurance that covers the cost of the weekend.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?
Our address is:  Bushwell Farm, 11 Melbourne Road, Newbold, Coleorton, Leicestershire.  LE67 8JH.
We are well served with major roads, rail and bus networks.
Full directions will be sent on booking.
If you are coming by train we can pick up from Loughborough, Leicester, Derby, Burton and Tamworth stations.

WHAT KIND OF SONGS WILL I LEARN?
There will be a heavy emphasis on Bluegrass, (obviously!) but don't be surprised if our tutors hop around the genres.

WHERE WILL THE TUITION TAKE PLACE?
In our large marquee and possibly in one of the barns.  All are airy and open sided if necessary.

CAN I COME AS A DAY VISITOR?
Yes, but the price remains the same due to the limit on numbers.

COVID

However, if you have any Covid like symptoms please take a test to confirm positivity or lack of and of course stay away if you are positive.
